What the heck is Online Fitness Coaching, and who is it for?

Let's be straight to start with... it's not this: 
... just an excuse to enjoy a little bit of the observational genius of Victoria Wood! 

Ok then, who is it for? 

It's really for anyone who would like to get fitter or improve their health & nutrition.  More specifically though, it means that the trainer isn't in the room with you.  Of course, in our Coronavirus times that has a huge advantage: you can get on with it now, you don't need to wait for restrictions to ease in order to attend a class, go to a gym, or meet up with a coach. 

What it does mean though, is that you have to do the sessions yourself.  That has pros & cons of course: but it allows you to complete those sessions whenever, and wherever you wish.  You're not tied to someone else's schedule.  You can train in your living room, in your garden, in your home gym if you have one, or on a beach or the top of a hill if you prefer!  You can also train in a commercial gym, should you wish to once gyms are able to open. 

I specialise in working with people who enjoy the outdoors.  If you recognise something you enjoy in any of these images, I will be able to help you reach your goals. 
So what is it, and how does it work?  

Well, Online Fitness Coaching can take many different forms, but I'll tell you about the services I offer.  There are of course many other trainers and coaches out there offering different 'flavours' of online coaching, but they all generally work towards one main goal: to help you improve your health and fitness.  

First things first, when you make an enquiry with me about Fitness Coaching, we will begin with a free 30 minute video consultation.  During this session, we will determine what your initial goals are, and which form of coaching would suit you best.  We'll have an open and honest conversation about how best I can help you to get to where you would like to be.  

Next, you get to choose which service you would like to sign up for.  With Zoe Newsam Coaching, there are three different levels of service available: 
Individual Coaching:  £89 per month
This service is fully personalised, and tailored completely to you and your goals.
  • Initial assessment and goal setting sessions. 
  • Fully personalised training programme, working towards your goals, using the forms of exercise that you prefer.  This may or may not include resistance training; if we choose to include resistance workouts they will be tailored to the equipment to which you have access. 
  • Video demonstrations for all resistance exercises.
  • Personalised nutrition advice & guidance, tailored to your goals.  The information you receive will help you to build understanding of nutrition, and learn more about how you can form healthy eating habits to help you feel good. 
  • Weekly educational material delivered to your inbox on training and nutrition.
  • Weekly check-in with me, to ensure you're happy and make any changes required to keep you progressing. 
  • Daily access to me via WhatsApp or text, for quick enquiries. 
  • Session delivery via tailored smartphone app to keep you on track. 
  • Membership of our Facebook group for community support. 
AdventureFit Coaching Programme:   £49 per month
This is a programme that gives you 3 resistance workouts and 2 cardio workouts per week, from which you can select the sessions that work for you.  
  • Resistance workouts need no specialist equipment, and can be done at home.  
  • Video demonstrations for all resistance exercises.
  • Cardio workouts are adaptable to whichever sport you choose, whether that be running, walking, cycling, paddling, rowing, or even cross-country skiing!
  • Check-in with me every 2 weeks, to ensure you're  happy with your progress and to make any required changes. 
  • Weekly educational material delivered to your inbox on training and nutrition.
  • Optional nutrition-tracking calculations and advice.
  • Session delivery via tailored smartphone app to keep you on track. 
  • Membership of our Facebook group for community support. 
PaddleFit/ AdventureFit Membership:  £10 per month
  • Workout of the Week aimed at paddlers (PaddleFit) or Adventure Sports (AdventureFit), delivered straight to your inbox each week. 
  • Twice monthly 'On the Water' or 'On the Hill' sessions delivered to your inbox. 
  • Membership of our Facebook Group for community support. 
Apart from the main programmes, you can also sign up for a small number of short programmes, aimed at achieving a specific goal: ​

You don't have to train in the snow, but you can train anywhere you like...
Introduction to Resistance Training: 4 weeks, £39
  • Aimed at those with no experience of resistance training who would like to include it in their exercise regime. 
  • Allows your body to learn the fundamental resistance training movements, and to help you feel capable & competent when you're training. 
  • Video demonstrations of every movement.
  • Session delivery via tailored smartphone app to keep you on track.​
  • Weekly educational material delivered to your inbox on training.
  • Check-in with me every 2 weeks, to ensure you're  happy with your progress and to make any required changes.
  • Ability to upload video of yourself, and receive feedback from me.
  • Membership of our Facebook group for community support. 
  • Begins on the first Monday of every month. 


Nutrition Jump Start: 6 weeks, £59
  • If you'd like to lose a little weight, or improve your nutrition or eating habits but only want to commit to a short programme, this is for you. 
  • Goal setting advice. 
  • Personalised nutrition calculations & advice.
  • Guidance on amount & type of exercise.
  • Daily check-ins on Facebook group specific to this programme to help you stay on track. 
  • Regular educational material delivered to your inbox on nutrition. 
  • Begins on the first Monday of every other month:  January, March, May, July, September, November.

Walker to Runner: Couch to 5k for Outdoor People.  
9 weeks, £74. 
  • If you're happy walking off-road and on trails, or hillwalking, and you'd like to give trail running a go, I can get you started!
  • Uses the Public Health England 'One You' Couch to 5k app so you have a trainer with you while you run. 
  • Adds a dedicated Facebook group to give community support. 
  • Help with selecting routes and trail-running specific advice on equipment. 
  • Optional resistance training sessions to help you develop as a fledgling trail runner. 
  • Begins on May 1st & August 1st. 
How can you get started?  
I'm in the process of rebuilding my website at the moment, and the new version will feature all of the above programmes alongside sea kayak coaching courses.  They'll be on offer from March 1st at the latest, with the website up and running before then.
